Cosy Cafes In Kyoto

Cosy Cafes in Kyoto.

How’s that for alliteration?

The building in this first photo is typical of a lot of buildings on smaller streets in Kyoto. It’s nothing fancy, but to my eyes interesting because of the lettering (of course) and I like the cosy inviting look of the warm light in the entrance.

The camera feature on Google Translate tells me that the sign says that this is a place specialising in grilled meats.

Is it open? It looks open. There are places that have a traditional way of displaying that they are open. That is with hanging curtains, like here. Again, Google Translate says that the white curtains in the second photo read “White Bowl Suyuan” and “Chinese cuisine fish house”.
