When the Government issues the letter that was promised three weeks ago would be coming ‘in the coming days’
When and if the letter contains the codes that are to be issued to vulnerable people
When the Government sends the codes to the supermarkets so the supermarkets can identify the vulnerable and prioritise deliveries for them
Then the vulnerable will not have to risk going to supermarkets to buy food, with the obvious risk of taking in a higher viral load than they would be exposed to if they stayed at home
Or if the vulnerable have someone else in their household who can shop for them, then the vulnerable will not have to have that other person go to the supermarket and risk being exposed to a high viral load and bringing it back into the house

In the absence of that, the plan to try to save the vulnerable falls flat.
