    I would like to know the Latin name. It appears to be a tree, but in the U.S. we have a shrub with that common name, Euonymus.

      Me too. From memory the tree is beyond the end of the path, so not easy to get to for a closer look. If I get a chance I will ask the gardeners if I see them. Watch this space.

        Thank you, David! You might also inquire about the eucalyptus. I can’t imagine it was grafted. I know that my Pacific fire vine maple was grafted from another Japanese maple and sometimes it sprouts the leaves of the graft maple at the base.
