The Golden Moment

I had just said goodbye to a friend with whom I had been on a walk. And as I walked down towards the ponds near Laundress Green, I noticed how bright and yellow the leaves of the willows were.

So I walked down to the pond – must have taken me thirty seconds – propped my leg against the little guard rail, and took this photo. And even as I was composing it, the light disappeared.

The light was the last drop of light before the sun dipped below the horizon.
