Making Modernism

On until 12 Feb 2023 at the Royal Academy in London, the exhibition shows works from Paula Modersohn-Becker, Käthe Kollwitz, Gabriele Münter and Marianne Werefkin.

I had my preferences, based on draughtsmanship skills, and vision. First up is Kathe Kollwitz and two self- portraits, one from 1889 and the other from 1934.

If I told you her parents were active socialists and that she devoted her life to righting social injustices, would you be surprised?
