Tone Deaf

We often find it difficult to understand why others find it difficult to do the things we find easy.

I just took a test to determine whether I am tone deaf. I am not. I raced through the test and scored 100/100 – and why not? It was so easy. Is this note higher or lower in pitch than this other note? Is this note ascending or descending in pitch? Etc.

For me to imagine the experience of someone who finds the test difficult, now that is difficult!

By the way, can you think of an antonym to ‘tone deaf’?

    As I have said on numerous times, David, you are a very musical soul with reference to your ear, your singing abilities, your memory for pieces, etc.

    As far as an antonym for “tone deaf,” I can’t think of a precise one. However, having perfect pitch would be the exact opposite musically. Having relative pitch is also very nice, though not as “spiffy” as perfect pitch.
