Another Blackface sheep taken on the same date as the one in the last post. From experience I know that while it is posing nicely, it is in that characteristic side-on position ready to be off in flash if it senses any encroachment on its safe social distance.
Another Sheep
Next up is another lovely sheep. The data on the RAW file says I took it on 7th January 2008.
I wish cameras were all made to record where the shots were taken.
I have a memory of driving past a field near Harrogate and seeing a field of very interested sheep, all pleased by our visit.
But what breed is it? I think it might be a Cheviot. I don’t think it is a Leicester, because the hump on its nose isn’t pronounced enough. But I am not sure.
If I knew sheep better I guess I would be able to tell from its face together with the look of the wool.
I wonder whether anyone reading this, knows?

Brings back lovely memories, thanks!

If you’re referring to the last photo, it’s a type of hair sheep, if that’s any help; )

I had to look up hair sheep, never heard the term before nor heard about any self-shedding sheep in the UK. More research…
