The Curve Of Ownership

There’s a report in the Guardian newspaper today that cites a study from the charity Oxfam that by next year 1% of the world’s population will own one half of the world’s wealth.

In contrast, the least well-off 80% currently own just 5.5% of the world’s wealth.

With a world population of 7.2 billion, the top 1% equates to 72 million people.

Is that how many people you imagined the top 1% represents?

It’s more people than I thought until I worked it out.

I wonder what the curve of wealth ownership is like within that 1%?

What does the top 1% of the top 1% own? And the bottom 1%?
