My diary in photographs
As a real-world test of the image quality of the GF1, here is a scene in the center of Leeds with people watching a street performer.
It’s a messy scene without focus, but also here is a crop of two percent of the frame that shows the detail that the camera can pick up.
Important: Not sure what is happening with images uploaded here, but they are much more compressed than when they leave my home machine. Must be some setting within WPress at the server end.

Have you resized them in the media library here? If so, that’s what’s gone wrong. I resize all but thumbnails in my graphics program before putting them in WordPress. There’s a post on Panos’s blog about this: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/01/16/image-quality/

Thank you for your input.
I haven’t had this issue before and I haven’t changed my method of uploading.
I didn’t resize them in the media library. I used Photoshop CS5’s ‘Save for Web and Devices’ option and saved the images at the size they appear on the page.
I read the article you mentioned and I must read it again when I have more time to look at all the variables. I think the first thing to do is to upload something and see what it looks like.
Will try to do that tomorrow.
