  • Another Side Of Kathe Kollwitz

In my last post I showed works from Kathe Kollwitz and asked that if I told you her parents were active socialists and that she devoted her life to righting social injustices, would you be surprised?

Now here is another side of her, and her feeling for intimacy and touch.

  • Making Modernism

On until 12 Feb 2023 at the Royal Academy in London, the exhibition shows works from Paula Modersohn-Becker, Käthe Kollwitz, Gabriele Münter and Marianne Werefkin.

I had my preferences, based on draughtsmanship skills, and vision. First up is Kathe Kollwitz and two self- portraits, one from 1889 and the other from 1934.

If I told you her parents were active socialists and that she devoted her life to righting social injustices, would you be surprised?
