At 130 Charing Cross Rd in London is a Cheeez booth. Note the three letters ‘e’ in the name.
The images are produced by a digital camera and the physical prints are produced by digital printing. That was clear not least because the prints came through pretty quickly – maybe a minute after the last exposure.
In other words, it’s not a wet booth where the prints are produced by normal film development and printing. The fastest wet photo booths manage to get that processing time down to about six minutes.
The woman running the booth is from Korea and she said that booths are big in Korea. I told her my wife had worked in Korea and then I sprang my ‘Kam-sa-ham-ni-da’ (thank you) and she bowed so automatically when she responded that it was fun to see.
You get ten exposures and then choose four shots from the ten.
Enjoy the fun one when I pulled my glasses away from my eyes to magnify my eyes.
