So dramatic. Why are the lines zig zagged? I have never seen that.

    1. I am blind – I really am. I never noticed them before – not just here but anywhere. And I don’t recall anyone ever explaining them. The zig-zag lines have to mean ‘no stopping in any circumstances because it’s a crossroad (intersections), and I just read that overtaking is also prohibited.

We have yellow zig-zag lines outside schools as well and I can vaguely bring them to mind.

One thing I learned recently is that some roads outside schools are forbidden to traffic during certain hours in London. It is part of the push to stop pollution affecting vulnerable people.

ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) extends now over most of London and is designed to make sure only non-polluting vehicles can enter the area. It has been a great success with pollution levels much better than before ULEZ.
