Damrak, Amsterdam

To see this scene, walk down Damrak from the Central Station in Amsterdam. It’s a broad avenue, so you won’t miss it. Well before you get to Dam Square, you will see where the canal boats are moored, on your left. Look across to the far side across the water beyond beyond the boats.

The houses across the canal go right down to the water line, as you can see. And of the many attractive views in the city, this is, I think, one of the most impressive.
