Cornflower

cornflower stalk and flower head and seed heads

If you perchance read the comments on my Poppy and Seed Heads post, you will have read that Deb spotted that the seed heads were from a cornflower.

Well, now here is a cornflower stalk with the flower head and seed heads. Case proven!

      1. And this is Cornflower’s tough-as-nails cousin, Greater Knapweed which grows along the gravel edges down our side road (right alongside where Snapping Turtles from ‘The Big Pond’ dig nests in which to lay their eggs… )
