Angels Jostling To Out-Angel

“The assumption of good faith is dead. What matters is not goodness but the appearance of goodness. We are no longer human beings. We are now angels jostling to out-angel one another.”

This is a quote from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, (author of Half Of A Yellow Sun) quoted in The Guardian. You have to admire her use of ‘angels jostling to out-angel on another’,

Here is the link to the article in the Guardian which the quote appears.

And here is the link to the article in Adichie’s own website under the News section.

  1. Ahhhhhh, such a WONDERFUL author she is, “everyone” should read her epic novel ‘Half A Yellow Sun’ – set in Nigera and which as you know I read just recently. I saw her interviewed by Mary Beard who mentioned the above which you wrote about. Go, Chimamanda, go!! 👏
