The Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele II, or the Victor Emanuele II Monument, is in homage to the first king of a united Italy. It most assuredly does not look like this, because this is a panorama shot. And if you did not know it already, panoramas made by turning the camera (or phone in this case) bring the centre forward and make the outer end retreat.
It would be great if I could show you a photo so you could see how the monument actually appears, but I was so taken with the panorama that all I have is this:
