The Etruscan Museum in Rome

The Etruscan Museum is a bit out of the way at Piazzale di Villa Giulia 9, north west of the Villa Borghese. It isn’t exactly run down, but it could do with a bit of love. There are a lot of pots in the museum, and small artefacts. I ran out of patience – not exactly ‘seen one pot and you’ve seen them all’ but it does take effort to enthuse about another cabinet of pots.

But then, the artwork on the pots started to get interesting, and overall the museum is worth visiting.

The buildings themselves are something else. They are surrounded by Stone pines, and they curve this way and that.

You can judge my description from this photo, right down to the Stone pines in the background.
