These are in the grounds of the Borghese Park in Rome. We saw them as we walked through the park after visiting the Borghese Gallery.
The stone pine, botanical name Pinus pine, is also known as the Italian stone pine, Mediterranean stone pine, umbrella pine and parasol pine.
When I get around to it I will post photos of the trees as they look daylight.
I took daytime photos of this species of pine with my ‘proper’ camera, but I shot this with my phone.
