Ideas About Cambridge

Downing Street Cambridge, UK

For those of you who have an idea in your mind about what Cambridge looks like, this may come as a surprise – or not.

I, for one, thought there would be College buildings, but not this kind of solid architecture that reminds me of central London.

This is Downing Street, just off St Andrew’s Street in Cambridge, which is what I think most people would think of as the geographic heart of the city.

Off to the left is Tennis Court Road – nice name, eh?

I am tempted to make a collection of photos of the city centre to give people an idea of what Cambridge really looks like. After all, it has a population of just 120,000 (plus some tens of thousands of students in term time), so hardly what a lot of people would think of as having solid architecture like this.
