The magnolia is in the churchyard of St Botolph’s Church on the corner of Trumpington Street and Botolph Lane in Cambridge.
Botolph Lane is a pipsqueak of a lane, very narrow and I doubt that a car could negotiate it. I love it.
I took this photo with my phone – iPhone 8 – and I have no idea why the photo has a black border. I didn’t set anything, even inadvertently, as far as I know. And there are just two photos on the roll that have this border.
I have several photo applications on the phone, but the two that I use most are the standard Apple camera app, and ProCamera. I took a few shots with both, and this one could have been from either app. If anyone knows a setting in either of these apps that creates a black border, please comment.
