Midsummer Common in Cambridge, looking towards the river Cam. This is the Common where cows graze, and I wonder whether they are out there, or whether the cowherd has moved them indoors for the winter? Cambridge is only a few metres above sea level, flat for the most part and not that far from the sea. The small droplets of water suspended in air are the result of the meeting of humid air and a cold surface. Is the ground cold from a night without sun?
