I photographed the elephant in South Africa when Tamara and I went last September. I have photos of the elephant close up eating bushes. When it had finished eating, it walked past us and went off.
And it’s quite a thought that apart from the risk of poaching, it has nothing to worry about. It has everything it needs and the world is its oyster.
I am trying an overlay of blue sky and clouds in Photoshop, and somehow the elephant stands out OK. What do you think? Does it appeal to you?
This is beautiful! A work of art!

Really lovely, David – and thanks for the memories of our trip!
One further comment: I don’t think the elephants’ lives are that carefree. Managing to find enough food daily must be quite something, even though they are the largest land animal. And of course, they are now dealing with the terrible and extended drought in South Africa.
Just some thoughts, although I bet I took your comment far more literally than you meant it, eh?? 🙂

Well, no, I am sure that not everything is exactly as they want it. What I meant was that they are big and there is not much they cannot do if they put their minds to it.
