Wonderful photos, David! What an experience to see elephants close up. I love the images with the babies. it must be a bit strange, after seeing elephants in zoos and on TV and in movies, and then seeing them in the wild. You’d have to keep reminding yourself that these are “wild.” These are the real thing.
Thanks, Joan – and you are right. I had to clear my eyes, breathe out and say to myself that it was here right in front of me. And you are right as well about how I thought about them. They were in an area that was fenced, but the fence was so far away that it may as well not have been there for them. They could roam as they wanted. In an ideal world the fence would not have been there, but neither would poachers. Thanks again.
