I shot this in the lambing tent at Wimpole Hall, where the light was low. When I saw the muted colours of the image on my computer, I was reminded of early colour photography.
The first present my wife Tamara gave me, soon after we met, was a book of colour photographs by Eliot Porter.
Porter was an American photographer who photographed birds and scenes in nature. He specialised in colour (specialized in color) and had a correspondence back and forth with Eastman Kodak in the formulation of their emulsions.
So I tried to capture that early colour look in this photo of a ewe at a hay basket.
Well done David!
