With my phone – Just one shot, but using HDR in ProCamera and then tweaked with Snapseed.

    2. Oh, and I posted it from my phone. I used the ‘Reduce’ app to save the file at ‘600 px long side’ – and I just looked and the file is just 41KB. So the day has come when it is entirely possible to blog from a phone.

Haven’t looked into the app for a while … remember I had some trouble aligning pictures, perhaps I just need to get over that.

If you were to shoot the same picture with the DSLR camera, you’d have to do several exposures, right?! … to obtain the same, awesome, result [with the outside the window]…

    1. Yes, that’s right. The dynamic range on a DSLR is greater (probably) but not enough to capture the exposure range between the light outside the room and the light inside in the shadows.

As far as the depth of field (the front-to-back distance that is sharp) is concerned, I’m going to do an article about what factors govern capturing near and far elements in a scene.
