Has WP Removed The Classic Mode Link In Edit-Post?
I am following up on a post from KokkieH about the descent into hell that is the BeepBeepBoop new ‘improved’ posting experience.
And I am also following up on a post on the same concern from JenT Singing The Dash Editor blues.
If you are a newbie to WordPress and find yourself stuck using the new BeepBeepBoop-Dash editor, follow this route back to the classic admin/new post heaven:
Nope! That doesn’t do it for me. The path you’ve illustrated from the Admin bar brings me right to the New Dash Editor. In order to get to the Classic Editor I have to go to my WPAdmin first, then Posts, then Add New.

Oh! I wonder why I have something different?
Oh oh, my bad. Yes you are right – I have to go via ‘Admin’ and then to new post.

I have seen the “new” editor just once, it is barren, ugly and is not easy to use. Why oh why do people have to “fix” something that works well? My thinking is that the powers that be at WP feel they must make the UI look modern, nothing more, to keep up with other platforms. Bunk. Just leave it alone, Matt.

I wonder whether they are trying to integrate mobile and desktop experiences?

It must be something like that. They don’t do it just for the sake of it — must take a great amount of work to change a thing like that. The Beep Beep Boop has been around for quite some time now, many has complained but nothing seems to change.

I always use the classic mode, but sometimes I forget, click edit post and end up with the beep beep bop.
The new and improved editor pisses me off.

I clicked the link to the forums and the happiness engineer has closed the topic to new replies because of abusive comments that “violate our Code of Conduct”.
Take a look.
