The ‘city’ of London has a specific meaning that encompasses the financial heart of the capital.
From Liverpool Street station and Bishopsgate one can see the looming, modern buildings behind the older and rather quaint buildings of earlier centuries.
It reminds me of a game of chess, with the knights and other power players hemming in the poor pawns.
I saw this in a street just off Bishopsgate when I was en route to buy a small backpack.
