Project 365 Day 50 – The Raspberry Sisters

One Night Only!

When I started Project 365 I had a vision of finding ‘things overlooked’ and photographing them. And I knew I wanted to photograph things close up.

The problem was that I didn’t have a close-up lens.

A couple of days ago I bought some close-up filters and I’m using those. I knew raspberries looked or perhaps felt like they were covered in little hairs – now I know they are covered in them.

Raspberries Close Up

  1. Ruth Seba says:

WOW! I want a close up lens now & a big bowl of raspberries! Bring on the summer fruit season.

    1. Waitrose superstore in Edinburgh has raspberries – that’s where these came from πŸ™‚

  2. coolfeline says:

I’m sure The Raspberry Sisters will become a huge success! Love the photo.

    What filters did you use?

I have a 50mm prime lens, but no macro… I’d love to have though..

Raspberries are a little hairy πŸ™‚ …I think they have little bones in them too..

    1. I bought the close-up filters as a set. It says Close Up No.1, Close Up No.2, and Close Up No.4 on the filters.

  3. Claire says:

Fabulous, what an interesting shot. They look delicious x

  4. originalapplejunkie says:

I’m not that big a fan of raspberries..specially in smoothies..but this picture is REALLY COOL!

    1. Yes, I prefer strawberries – and blackberries – but the sisters were crooning to be taken out for a spin πŸ˜‰

  5. Oh that is cool. My camera would never pick that up so well…you are going to have great fun experimenting!

  6. passaggia says:

This picture makes me want a better camera real bad πŸ™‚

    1. What camera have you got – and anyway, your photos are good – some lovely shots πŸ˜‰

      1. passaggia says:

It’s a Sony Cyber-shot – it was on sale, when I bought it. But it frequently makes blurry pictures and all I can do with it is to choose the subject and hope it won’t turn out too bad. I would love to make close ups, but it doesn’t even realise a macro shot :/

        1. I sympathise. 😦

You still make nice shots πŸ˜‰

  7. Love those raspberries! That new lens is worth every penny

    1. Thanks – tweet it!

  8. That’s beautiful detail you’ve captured. I think it’s dangerous that I know about these filters now though.

I’ve got a small macro addiction in me just waiting to come out and until now the only thing that’s kept it suppressed is the lack of a macro lens πŸ˜‰

    1. I love the way there is a whole new macro world waiting πŸ˜‰

  9. Nae's Nest says:

Imagine how hairy a peach much be! lol Clever, I love the photos

    1. Good idea! Peaches are now on the photography menu.

      1. Nae's Nest says:

Better load up on the shaving cream. haha

        1. That would be a first – I’ve never shaved a peach. I might do that to see how it works.

  10. Mum2Four says:

    What an amazing picture!

  11. great idea, i will try to look for things that are overlooked to photograph!

  12. Those photos are gorgeous, the raspberries look so sumptuous and succulent. I’d love to have lenses like this.

    1. Thanks πŸ™‚

(I shot it with a Panasonic GF1 with a 20mm lens and some close-up filters on the lens.)
