I’ve been reading a series of books that take place in Edinburgh (44 Scotland Street)

You’re not in Scotland, are you?

Yes, in Edinburgh – moved here three weeks ago. We are, according to Google maps, nine tenths of a mile from 44 Scotland Street. 🙂

    Go figure.

Is it true that Alexander McCall Smith writes for a newspaper there? (His books are supposedly articles from a newspaper)

Maybe you’re not familiar with that author, tho?

I knew only his name until this summer when we went to a talk by him at the Book Festival that we came to here in Edinburgh. I am not sure whether he still writes for The Scotsman newspaper, but he talked about his books and I realised then that I had watched some episodes of ‘The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency’ on TV.
